Walk the Malecón
Havana's famous seafront boulevard runs about
7 kilometres from Habana Vieja (Old Havana) to
the Vedado and Plaza area.
Morro Castle
and early 17th It was built in the late 16th century century
to guard against the constant threat of pirate attacks.
Tourists come here to experience the performance of
a cannon-firing ceremony at 9 pm each evening.
The Museum of the Revolution
The Revolution is a museum located in the Old Havana
section of Havana. The museum is housed in what
was the Presidential Palace of all Cuban preside
Old Havana, a UNESCO world heritage site. Elegant
Neoclassical and Baroque buildings border cobbled squares
and narrow streets, and many have been carefully restored
to their former beauty.
Capitol building
El Capitolio, inaugurated in 1929. Rising from the city
skyline, this grand building displays a blend of Neoclassical
and Art Nouveau styles and was the seat of government
until 1959.
National Museum of Fine Arts
The National Museum of Fine Arts is a must-see
for art lovers. The restored Palacio del Centro Asturiano,
designed in the 1920s by Manuel Bustos, houses Art
from European Masters and a collection of more
than 600 works of Ancient Art, from the Egyptian
to Roman ages.
Gran Teatro de La Habana
houses in the It's one of the world's largest opera middle
of the Caribbean. Over the years, the Gran Teatro de
La Habana has hosted a wide variety of performances by
some of the most famous celebrities in the world. Today,
the theatre is home to Cuba's National Ballet and Opera.
National Botanical Garden of Cuba
About 10 kilometres south of Havana, the Jardin Botanico
Nacional encompasses 1,500 acres of botanical wonders.
Tour a cigar factory
The Partagas cigar factory, behind the Capitol Building,
offers tours.
Beaches (Playas del Este)
A short drive from Havana's city centre, visitors will find
Playas del Este, a long stretch of palm-fringed beach that runs
for miles.
